Ced returns, unwelcomely.

does anyone know anything about making something for tea with pork and cabbage that doesn't make everyone absolutely sick? unfortunately Ced has just arrived at our place after a mercifully long absence and he's brought a whole load of pork and cabbage with him, not like a bottle of wine or some chocolates like most people would but then he's not most people, thankfully. he's bound to be thinking of something horrible to do with them; he's the kind of person who seriously might be a poisoner.

i think you should be blunt and tell him that in this day and age pork and cabbage is simply unacceptable as a meal. However he may have an alternative use for these ingredients. Best of luck and hope you don't get cabbage poisoning

too late; we all nearly died, what with not having the nerve to be, as you wisely advise, blunt. I have copied and pasted your helpful message into my scrapbook for next time. When I think about it, i can't IMAGINE how I let myself be duped by Ced YET AGAIN. Pork and cabbage IS unacceptable as a meal, and you're right, i should have told him so.

your best bet is to make a lovely somerset honeyed pork stew - yum yum in my tum and just chuck the cabbage away.

swaffette you are a GENIUS! that honeyed somerset pork stew was DELICIOUS! We ate TONS of it and there was enough leftover to fill 7 baskets and feed 7 hungry chickens, who have repaid our kindness by laying us some golden eggs(7)!
